About Jug-Or-Not.com

Jug-or-not.com was founded in 1996 as a collaboration between the North Florida Shroom Guide and the punk band JUG-OR-NOT from Orange Park, Florida. Over the years, it has been the location of many controversial websites, featured in numerous publications, government drug war propaganda pieces, and outright banned.

The Origin of Jug-or-not.com

In 1994, Cowboy was doing research into Psychedelics on the newly populated internet. The internet at that time, lacked many graphics, lacked many of the interactive features, and much information was disjointed.

In 1995, Cowboy had amassed enough information to put into a web page about psilocybe mushrooms in a much better format and much more complete manner than ever seen before. He taught himself how to write html code and produced some amature pages and placed them in his isp's local directory. The Jacksonville Times Union found the page and featured it in lifestyle on October 3, 1995 in a story about the newly emerging practice of ordinary people producing their own newspapers on the net in the form of web pages.

The next day Cowboy was fired from America Online for violating company policy.

In 1996, Cowboy became involved with the Pop Punk Band Jug-or-not from Orange Park, FL through his friend Jon Golatz. Cowboy would attend the shows, get drunk with the band, load equipment and smoke as much pot as possible. Soon however, controversy would begin, Cowboy's website was banned from two local ISP's for Bandwidth and Censorship reasons and so he teamed up with Jug-or-not to produce Jug-or-not.com by soliciting half of the $100 cost for buying a domain.
