The fascists in the ‘20s and ‘30s did not come to power by promising to create a society beyond good and evil. They did it by promising people things that really were good, such as safe streets and private property and a country with a culture they could recognize. The opponents to fascism too often fell into the trap of opposing these things simply because the fascists endorsed them. This is an important point for the world’s liberals (or progressives, or whatever they call themselves locally) to keep in mind. As for the conservatives, they must beware of the company they keep. |

Bush is just as big a terrorist as Usama Bin Laden, he just uses "freedom" as his soapbox, that makes his policies OK, but when people in other countries engage in the same type of activities, it is terrorism.
Under Bush, Police can:
storm into your home without a warrant, can jail you without formal charges indefinately, deny you access to evidence to be used in your defense, institute STAR CHAMBERS, Shoot and kill you under "reasonable suspision" (not beyond shadow of doubt),
Bush has appointed radicals as members of his leadership Cabinet. Ashcroft lost to a deam man in an election as Governor of Missouri. The people have spoken that they did not want Ashcroft and Bush overode the will of those voters, just as he overrode the Majority of American Voters who did not vote for Bush as President.
Democracy? What Democracy.
